Siena (12-4) is a strong team with great experience. The italian team is still without Rimantas Kaukenas, but the coach Simone Pianigiani has already shown he is ready to solve this problem.

Olympiacos (9-7) is the underdog in this playoff series. In my opinion they can get a win when they will play in Athens, but I don’t see any chance for the Greek team in Siena. As you live in Italy, you can watch the game live on TV channel Sportitalia.

Waiting for Cantù – Maccabi

Well, yesterday Unics won against Milano and I secured some money for my bank account.

Tonight Cantù hosts Tel Aviv and, as you know I bet on Maccabi win. Just two tips for my italian followers: read the preview of the match published by all-round.net (a good basket website in italian) and watch the match on tv channel Sportitalia at 20:45 cet.

Last week Bennet (1-1) had to work and to suffer a lot in order to defeat Zalgiris Kaunas, then, in the weekend, lost against Sassari in a Serie A match. My question is: can a team that suffer with Zalgiris defeat a top team as Maccabi? No, it can’t. In my opinion Cantù players start to be tired of this season: too many games for them.

Maccabi (1-1) has 8 won and 4 lost this season, probably they are not so strong. as last seasons, anyway they are stronger than Cantù. For Maccabi Tel Aviv this is the most important match of the season, as they win the match, they are set to get a place in the playoff. As they lose the match, probably, they could watch the post season only on tv.

Unics (2-0) is the leader of group G, thanks to their great road win against defending champion Panathinaikos last week. In all the Euroleague season Unics record is 9-3 as they lost only against top clubs as Montepaschi Siena, once, and Barcelona, twice. Milano is not a top european club.

Milano (0-2) on Sanday won its Serie A match against Pesaro, thanks to Milano new player J.R. Bremer. Unfotunately for the Italian club, this player is ineligible to play until Top 16 Game 4. No chances for Omar Cook and friends in Russia.

Fenerbahce (0-1) is without point guard Roko Ukic, injured. The Turkish team has a bad 0-1 in the Top 16, but a good 6-5 including also reagular season with an excellent 77.81 points average scored. Fenerbahce fans are supporting the team at the new Fenerbahce Ulker Sports Arena, which hosts a Turkish Airlines Euroleague game for the first time.

Milano (0-1) has 5 games lost in a row, 4 games of Italian Serie A and 1 game of Euroleague. EA7 will travel to Istanbul without Malik Hairston, the most important player of the Italian team. I see a terrible night for Sergio Scariolo’s boys.

After the 0-3 I collected last week, I think these are not the right days for supporting underdogs. So for this match I choose CSKA (1-0), the only Euroleague team to have a 11-0 record this season.  

Efes (1-0) have a 6-5 record this season: in the regular season they have lost twice with Maccabi and twice with Real Madrid. So, they are used to lose against strong teams, and CSKA Moscow is really strong!
